E30 folding elliptical is fast becoming popular choice in the elliptical market. E30 offers a combination of low-impact cardio and strength training workout coupled in a single machine. If you fell in love with the Horizon 1200 elliptical, then you will surely love the E1201 elliptical as it replaced the 1200 model. It does not only promote an intensive work out but it make sure that you are entertained by your ever dependable IPod as it has its own IPod dock with console controls. It is perfect for music lovers and health buffs who want a little groove on their workout.

When I heard of the new elliptical from Horizon that replaced the 1200 model, I was eager to try it out. I was expecting for it to be an improved and better version and it really is an improved and definitely a better version. With the vast improvement in quality, I can say that this elliptical is the most comfortable and most sturdy among the entire line of Horizon elliptical.

Although this machine is proven to be sturdy and stable, I find the 300 lb. user capacity as something that needs to be worked on. I guess my question is what will happen if I have a friend who wants to work out on the machine but weighs more than 300 lbs. it’s a good thing that none of my housemates weigh as much but chances are, there will always be an individual who would want to use the machine who weighs beyond the user capacity.

What I love best about this Horizon Elliptical is the IPod dock with console controls. It will definitely make work out more enjoyable and fun. The IPod dock charges your unit while you can conveniently control the console. This is the perfect feature for music and work out lovers. Now you don’t have to worry about dropping your IPod while you are working out as you can easily place it on the dock.

With the 19” stride of this elliptical, it is considered to be a great machine for the long legged. It gives natural and confident movement and the narrow pedal spacing mimics your normal gait. But some may find it uncomfortable to use if they have short legs. Plus the 7 built in work outs gives the user plenty of work out routines to choose from. You can choose from three open-ended programs and the other four are saved work outs. Although some would say that there should be more programs for a wider variety of workout routine.

One thing that would be considered as the biggest challenge for the owners of the Horizon E1201 is that it is hard to store. It may be hard to store, but it is easy to assemble.

TheHorizon E901 is a great machine for new users. It has the basic features that you would need to ensure a great work out. The best part about this machine is that it is friendly on the budget. It’s a great machine for losing weight less the advance complicated feature of other elliptical machines. It is highly recommended for beginners because it gives you what you need but it is not recommended for the advanced users who are looking for more features in an elliptical.

The 3 goal and 4 terrain Workouts of the Horizon E901 elliptical that is included in the on-the-fly programming of this exercise machine can be interrupted, changed or stopped conveniently at any point during your exercise period. For me, this is a great feature especially for those who have a baby on the next room who can interrupt you in the middle of the workout. Although it is most unlikely that your baby will wake up while you are using this machine because it is not noisy as compared to other exercise machines that can wake the whole house hold.

If we compare the Horizon E901 elliptical cross trainer to the pricier E1201, you will be surprised that many good qualities that are found on the E1201 unit is also found on the E901 unit. This only means that you are able to save money as you can still expect what you are looking for in this machine. Although it is not rated as the best when it comes to reliability, noise, ergonomics and value, it is still rated as above average. The question lies however on the 300 lb. weight capacity. But if you look at the overall performance of this machine, I can really say that it is a solid performer and has better than the average warranty as compared to other cheap elliptical. And the best part is you get all this at an affordable price.

The IPod on the dock is considered as icing on the cake for many. It is a genius feature that promotes a fun exercise. Now you can groove to your music on your MP3 or IPod while doing a rigorous exercise. It even makes you forget on how hard it is to lose weight and exercise. It also has a solid and stable ride and a smooth elliptical motion. It also gives a comfy articulating foot pedals and a narrow pedal stance.

If there is one major thing that this product needs to improve, it is the braking system which can be undependable at times. You can not immediately step up or down the resistance level because it takes a few seconds before it kicks in. it also is hard to store because it is a little bulky. Some parts are also easily broken but will be replaced right away if it is under warranty.

Horizon EX-77 Elliptical Review

There are so many things included on the Horizon EX-77 which I never expected to find on an elliptical which is commonly sold at under $700. The fact that there is power incline at all is something amazing, power incline on an elliptical is rather rare under $2,000 and is a great feature to work different muscle sets which simply changing resistance will never help.

This machine actually lets you adjust incline in 5% inclines from 0% all the way to 100%. 100% incline on this machine is 16%, which provides workout which is quite different from the one you experience without any incline.

With a 14 pound Fly wheel this machine starts to lose a little of its moment. Fly wheel weight usually plays a direct role in how smooth a elliptical feels and how natural and constant its motion feels. 14 pounds is fairly light and results in the first major demerit for this machine.

The included speakers and mp3 input jack to add entertainment value to this machine and combine with the 14+ programs of this machine to add some fun and serious workout machine. The + part of the programs is an on the fly feature which allows the user to create custom programs during their workout.

Surprisingly Loaded Machine

With several features rare on all but the most expensive machines, including: a pivoting foot plate which allows for a more natural stride, power incline, and variable stride length, the EX-77 has many unexpected features. It is quite surprising what horizon was able to pack into this machine and it is surprising to more people to notice that.

However, there are a number of liabilities with this machine that only start with the light fly wheel. Even though this machine is not overly expensive, it would be nice to have a longer warranty. Horizon has also had a problem which has not yet been fixed with their inclusion of cheap parts which are likely to brake and can lead to wearing over time. This wearling can lead to damage in expensive and non replaceable parts which often results in the purchase of a new machine.

More than anything, this machine is not a 10 year machine, but then again it is not priced that way.

A Value Despite Faults

The surprising thing about this machine is that it is actually priced right. You get more than what you pay for as far as I am concerned. Despite reliability concerns and a warranty which makes buying an extended warranty a good idea, the EX-77 is full of value. A surprise and a joy.

Again not the best machine out there, but it really caught me off guard and is a great chance for people to own a machine with expensive features without laying out a ton of cash.
